Attention: is as fundamental as food; and we go blundering about, seeking ways to assuage the craving, instead of learning how to provide ourselves with what we need, sensibly and calmly. Once our attention is drawn to the mechanism of why and what we give attention to, it is as if a veil has been stripped off and we become freer in our action and choices. And that is our endavour.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This week I bring to your attention an excerpt titled \u2013 Money and Financial Markets <\/em>from an article titled \u2018<\/strong>The Difference Between the Real Economy and a Perpetual-Debt Economy<\/em><\/strong>\u2019 <\/strong>contributing writer George Kasabov.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This article tries to explore the \u201creal economy,\u201d and the modern \u201cmoney economy.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Money and Financial Markets<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the market for \u201creal\u201d goods, debt and credit are intertwined. They depend on each other. A sale is a credit made on trust, with the expectation that it will be repaid \u2013 and that will be the end of it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So the \u201creal\u201d market only needs money as a measure of value, and a means of payment; it circulates, greasing the wheels of commerce as it goes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, unlike the market for real commodities which is based on payment when the deal is done, the modern market for money and its derivatives purposefully has no expectation of final repayment, no closure of accounts. There is only a need for money to remain permanently available, liquid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
